The Rambler Inn & Holiday Cottage

The location is excellent for walking. The Ramblers Inn was friendly, great atmosphere. Warm comfortable rooms, lots of hot.water for a much needed showers. Breakfast and food choice where good. Gets very busy in the evening so reserve a table. They offer packed lunch which was heloful. Emma made our break extra soecial. She ran a fabulous team of helpful friendly staff. We will be back!

Gorgeous, comfortable, clean, rooms, lovely country style with a luxury twist in the bathrooms, felt really relaxed and cared for. Food was amazing, consistently great, speedy and friendly service.

It would have been nice to have had somewhere to wipe/clean boots before entering the property, I kept taking my boots off, but a bucket or water and a brush, would had made me feel less like I was going to ruin the carpets!

Staff

Location & plenty of parking. Rooms ok. Comfortable. Bathrooms modern, with lots of hot water. Sadly by 6pm all sold out of roasts (except pork) & my second choice of pie. Had sausage & mash. Was ok, but felt a tad disappointed. In the morning, lots of variety for breakfast. Really friendly staff.

Sold out of some of the Sunday favourites by 5pm. Bit of a shame if you’ve done a long hike & you just fancy a roast. However, dog of good food. Ice cream was heavenly. Room very quiet, despite pub being busy. Also….. a small point & didn’t impact me because it was heavy fog anyway but the room I booked said Mountain View’ vs the room i was allocated overlooked the carpark at the back. If this is something you’re really looking forward to, maybe check in advance with them directly. I didn’t raise it because it didn’t impact me & I assume (hope) the price was the same.

Very pleasant rooms. Really friendly and attentive team of people to welcome you after a days hiking. Warm fire and great food and beer too. Thank you

The location is fantastic, the staff were very friendly helpful.

We ate there in the evenings and the menu was restricted because they had run out of things. It was a very busy weekend though.
