Location is perfect just far enough from the main street

Such a lovely host and wife. The host organised a really safe and reliable tuk tuk driver for us at a reduced price. He also helped with bus and train timetables and dropped us at the bus when we left. The breakfasts were delicious and huge - well worth the small extra cost. Such a convenient location. Cheap laundry service. Definitely recommend this place as a really friendly and welcoming homestay style of accommodation.

Originally accidentally booked a tent which whilst comfortable wasn't what we were after, the owner transferred us to a room the following day. The hot water didn't work so we had cool showers but given the climate it wasn't a problem. A little bit noisy at night due to NYE parties nearby but we got used to it and it didn't bother us after the 2nd. Few flies snuck into the room but spray got rid of them and pretty normal for Sri Lanka.

We wanted a tent house experience and it is. location is very close to Ella railway station.

Washroom disappoints me. I knew it will be a basic , but it went below the range, no mirror even. There is only one charging option (3 PIN Flat) placed outside the cabin, so you have to wait until your gadgets are charged up. You better carry a multi plug.

Didn’t spend the whole night as I have a fear for insects and sadly some laying insects got in my room. Its absolutely not the place’s fault as it is normal, and since it was rainy it might have caused them to be more interested in my bedroom light 😅 They were super kind in trying to let them out and it actually worked. However they kept coming back idk how and since I was not feeling comfortable I decided to leave before checkout. However this is just my experience and the hosts were kind !

The lady in the guesthouse was nice and try to offered us tea and coffee twice. Since we were here only for the bed and was in a hurry either to go out or to leave, we didn't take the tra or coffee, but thank you! The hot water was good and the bathroom was big. Comparing with many other places we experienced this one is exceptional. We were able to wait for buses just outside of the door of the guesthouse and all busses stopped here. Didn't need to go to the bus station at all.

The beds were humid that it make the clothes humid after lying on it for a while. I had to put the dry towel the guesthouse prepared to sleep on in order to keep the body dry. Guess it's because of the wet weather lately and in the dry days it's not an issue but was a bit difficult for myself to sleep. The place is not luxury at all, and it stated itself on the wall. However it's not the cheapest place in the town. We don't really mind but just think should let the rest know and set the expectations correctly. It's right next to the trai track so it's noisy when the train passes by. We can hear the wok cooking sound of the next door restaurant as well. Not really an issue for us since none of them continued into the night.
