Near the train station and nice staff. Rooms are large

Place is not in great condition/requires internal refurbishment, not easily accessible given on a steep hill. Did not feel as much being on vacation..

Right near the station, just behind up a hill. Easy to get to normally, although we arrived during the biggest snowfall of 20 years and it was a bit of a mission. In face it was a last minute booking because we couldn't get out to where we had originally booked. Then onsen and footbath are hot! And amazing in the winter snow. The staff were very kind and we had a great set breakfast. The room was basic but cosy. Would go again for sure

It's not the most upmarket and modern place but don't let that out you off

Der Onsen war sehr angenehm und macht einen Aufenthalt im Kappa Tengoku durchaus lohnenswert. Das Hotel ist sehr nah am Bahnhof gelegen und die Betten waren gemütlich. Das Personal war sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend.

Lovely traditional ryokan right next to the train station. It was basic however for one night we didn’t need much else! They also had a foot onsen aswell which was lovely. The rooms were huge and there was also an optional of paying an additional 500 yen for a private onsen for 30 mintues which we did. The staff were all lovely and super helpful. The area itself is quite busy however in the evening it did appear abit quiet. Hakone itself is definitely a must see it’s AMAZING and such a nice peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of the big city’s🧘‍♀️

Kappa Tenguko is very conveniently located next to Yumoto station. It is run by very kind owners (a family?). The rooms are spacious, have thee facilities, toilet, airco and shower. The onsen and footbath are great. And you can sit nicely on the terras next to the footbath outside - lovely in the evening.

If you have heavy luggage, there are a lot of stairs! Some of the beds smelled odd (humid? /Something chemical?)
