Kappa Tengoku

L'emplacement est idéale car juste au dessus de la gare. J'ai vraiment très bien dormi et tout était parfait.

Un poil cher pour ce que c'est mais je ne regrette pas.

住宿地點很棒，是有年代感的飯店但是整潔程度一極棒！ 接待人員超親切可愛，露天浴場也很棒！

The place itself was really nice, the room was spacious and beds comfortable. The staff were so friendly.

The hotel is kinda like a ryokan, with complimentary shared onsen and a foot bath. The staff said onsen water is piped to the room showers too. The location is just above the train station, which also means there will be noise from train movement, if that bothers you. Staff were nice and helpful (as with large majority of Japanese are). The rooms are also really huge with space for either a tatami area or a sofa.

Other reviews about the stairs are very true. Because the hotel is on a hill (as with most of Hakone areas), the steps are really steep, with the reception counter about 4 to 5 storeys high from the ground floor. While there is somewhat a more accessible path, it still requires using steep uphill slopes and at least 2 steep flights of stairs. There was a lack of signage for this ‘more accessible’ path too. This hotel is not suitable for those with mobility difficulties. Also felt that was a lack of mirrors in the room which made making up quite inconvenient.

Strategic location with a nice view, kind stuff and great onsen! The room was spacious and welcoming.

Although well kept, it wasn't very clean.
