Penginapan Sedap Malam

After 1 week in the Homestay Sedap Malam, we recommend this family place. The rooms are clean. The owners are adorable and always there to help you. So much service are avaible (laundry, scooter, breakfast)

There is not hot water in shower

Really nice place! Nice people, some dogs (depends on the person if that’s positive of course). Easy to book tours and rent a scooter. A bit away from the street so really quiet at night.

Had to take a more expensive room because mine was still rented because people decided to stay longer. It’s a nice thing to let people extend their stay (I did too) but you can’t just ignore that a new person already booked it in my opinion. But a minor thing to the great time I had there

The host and his Family are very very friendly and welcoming! The location was very good, although I kept missing the little street when approaching from the main street 😅 - but you kinda need a scooter to get around i think. The owner even climbed the tree to get us a pomelo :) On the last evening they went with us to a very nice Warung nearby. We ended up booking the dolphin tour with the homestay - it was nice, but there are many boats out there. Breakfast was alright and there are some really cute puppys playing in the garden :)

Not really with the homestay itself, but there is a grumpy German neighbour and as we left we were passing him on the little street and he shouted some German slurs at us for no apparent reason 🤔

Extremely accommodating for last minute booking. Room was clean and towels provided!

They don’t clean the bathroom until you leave

The room was very nice. It was clean and light, everything worked well and there was soap in the bathroom. The outside area of the homestay was very nice with a big garden area that had lots of fruit trees and puppies running round. The breakfast was nice with pancakes and tea or coffee offered. The man who works there was very nice and chatted with us at breakfast and offered us some extra food that he just bought in town.

The only thing that tainted our experience, here was the lady who runs it. She seemed annoyed at the fact she was making breakfast for us. We were waiting patiently at the bar for her to come over in her own time, but when she came over she didn’t say good morning back to us just simply said five minutes and then had a negative attitude for the entire time. This happened on the second morning and on the third a similar thing where she served guests who had got to the breakfast area after us, and she had another similar negative attitude the entire time while offering the other guests fruit but not us, and generally just having a annoyed attitude towards us for no reason. The lack of manners and friendly attitude really affected our experience. In contrast to the lovely atmosphere created by the man.

The location is good and the price is very reasonable for the value. The courtyard and rooms are spacious and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and generous.
