The Ferry Inn

Clean, comfortable and so cozy ! Loved it ! Best sleep! Food was great in the restaurant and staff were so friendly there and in the bar. Room had everything we needed and more. Would highly recommend.

The place has a nice rustic aesthetic. It is situated perfectly between the harbor and the hill behind it, my room was facing the harbor and I therefore had an amazing view of it. They still use metal keys, and I hope to the powers that be that they keep them instead of switching to those card thingys. The food was good, the beverages cool, and all presented in a timely manner. If staff count as being “part of the property”, then this place has the best that I’ve experienced, hospitable, affable, it genuinely seemed like they cared about their guests, even if everything else wasn’t completely up to scratch these guys made my stay worth it.

Some of the doors needed a bit of force to open, and my toilet lacked a lid, other than that I have no complaints.

Really friendly and accommodating staff. Super easy check-in and check-out, and the location was perfect for catching the Orkney ferry.

The location next to the ferry terminal is perfect. You do have a nice tapas restaurant next door and a great adjoining restaurant upstairs. Rooms are cozy, Decor was like staying at your grandma's house kind of vibe, but done in a really nice, beautiful way. View was nice, I absolutely loved the place honestly. Staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating. Plus we got a delicious complimentary breakfast in the morning, all up it's a wonderful hotel.

The stairs with no lift might be an issue for some, not for us however so there wasn't anything we didn't like.

Seriously terrible food. The worst pizza I have ever eaten. Decided to avoid breakfast and pay to eat on the ferry instead.
