they recomended 2 resteraunts both of them were great and within easy walking distance from the King George Inn. very relaxing place.

King George Inn is a fascinating and historic building with interesting past. Our room was nice and comfortable and location was great, allowing us to walk downtown and around the beach and harbour. Local restaurant was great (Cucina Urbana) and we had an amazing evening talking with locals. Other highlight a few minutes from the hotel is the Victoria Halls with court room. The security guard told us the history and absolutely fascinating. Out of season there isn't a huge amount going on in Cobourg, but very glad we stayed there.

As mentioned, but other reviewers, the WiFi is pretty useless in the hotel. Mobile signal was ok, so not a big issue, although the WiFi could be easily fixed I would think. The outside of the hotel looks a bit run down and appears there is likely to be development happening. Hope the hotel remains.

Le côté insolite de l’établissement. C’est propre et entretenu. Cependant, une nuit est suffisante, je ne m’y voyais pas y rester plus longtemps au vue du concept.

La salle de bain ne permet aucune intimité comme ce sont des barreaux avec un simple rideau peu occultant. Pas grave car j’étais avec mes enfants. En couple, ça doit être moins fun.

The hotel is very unique and full of charm. The room was spotless and very well maintained. A really pleasant stay overall.

Vanessa radiated warmth. She was lovely and we enjoyed bumping into her in town. She also gives brilliant recommendations. She showed us around some of the rooms with original jail features and the museum downstairs. It was one of our favorite places we stayed at during our 10 day Canada trip. I'd love to come back and stay in the town for a bit longer next time. The whole town had a real community feel

Coffee machine in the room could have been better, but other than that, there's nothing that could be better. Vanessa is great!

The hotel is very nicely decorated and each room has a different theme. My husband and I stayed in the library room while our daughters had a nautical theme. The rooms were lovely and very comfortable.

The wifi didn't work at all. The hotel has a late check in fee which we hadn’t noticed when we booked. They charge $25 per hour for every hour after 7pm that you check in. We arrived at 7.45pm. The hotel is not cheap so we would have hoped for better amenities such as shower gel instead of bars of soap in the bathroom.
