Nice place, very quiet, good sleep. The swimming pool is lovely, and the staff are friendly. It feels like home! Thanks for everything. If I come back around, I will definitely choose 1949 Dreamy Home again 🙌.

Small quiet place - and big rooms

The place is quite spacious, and not too far from the town by the tricycle.

For light sleepers, you may be awake by the roosters. Staying nearer to the town center might be more convenient.

Room: absolutely thrilled when we walked in - a huge living area with a separate bedroom and bathroom. We stayed for 6 nights so it was great to have this extra space. The bed was really big and very comfortable with soft, good quality sheets. Staff: really helpful and pleasant, the gardener was lovely. Facilities: the pool is really big and we had it to ourselves the whole time. Kitchen was fairly well equipped and we were happy when we managed to get some salt and oil (see below). There's a fairly well equipped old school style gym a 2 minute walk away which you can use for 100 pesos (called Bob Gym) - we used it twice. There's a really nice and well priced Mexican doing tacos (170p) and other bits a 3 min walk away (called Narcos). Also a laundry place just outside which turned our things around within 6h (250p a load). Location: not the best...

Location: it was 25-30 mins to walk to the main bit and main restaurants which wasn't ideal as there was no pavement. Other negatives: There was no check in or check out process, the gardener gave us a key. We figured the place was less hotel and more bnb vibes but a greeting from the owner would have been nice. No hand soap at the kitchen or bathroom sink so we had to find our own. We got a few cockroaches in the bathroom, presume they came up via the sink. It was scary and unpleasant but not really the fault of the owners. We needed a few more basic items such as soap, a hand towel for the bathroom, a tea towel for the kitchen, washing up liquid, salt, oil - we asked and were provided with all of these apart from a tea towel but we had to knock on the owner's house to ask. We had to keep asking for toilet roll. Bring ear plugs if a light sleeper as there was a very noisey group of cockrels close by who piped up at about 2am. These are negatives but only minor points, we would stay here again as the room was huge and well priced. Just a shame about the location.

Check in was a little difficult as only the gardener was around when I arrived. Best to contact beforehand and advise on arrival time
