It didn’t match the pictures! The room:- was clearly not refurbished as the description said was filthy and needed a very Deep clean. This is not the fault of the weekly cleaner (who preps the rooms) but the job of the owner to ensure and see to decorating Rusty degraded radiator Grimy light pull cord in bathroom No radiator in bathroom Bed Room too small Cobwebs on ceiling and walls shower area too small. No extractor fan in shower room Nowhere to hang wet towels Bed Mattresses need replacing. They’re out of shape because the only place to sit in the room is on the edge of the beds. The small token stool was useless for seating Wood effect on ceiling above wardrobe is coming away. A health and safety issue there Stained pillow cases No accessible sockets unless you’ve moved the chest of drawers away from the wall

Friendly family pub with good food and beer Warm and clean

Very small room with bed against wall in alcove. Tiny shower. No chair to sit on or table. Very cramped

Rooms are looking a bit tired

The rooms are above a busy pub, serving nice beer and food (although there was no chef on the Tuesday night). The staff were friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were plenty of teabags and biscuits and - although there is no breakfast option - I was told to help myself to instant porridge pots (top brand) if I wanted it.

Just bear in mind that the rooms are above a pub so - up until 11pm - some noise can be heard - especially if a band is playing. (The pub is next to a railway bridge so trains can be heard throughout the night.)

Loved The Spittal Brook. Jam night on the Tuesday was superb. Staff very friendly. Will definitely book again

Nothing to dislike

Well presented rooms with lots of facilities. Comfortable bed. Nice to have free WiFi. Brilliant free parking with lots of spaces.

It was very close to the train track, which I knew about before booking, however due to the heatwave I had to keep windows open which made it noisy and the fan supplied was also noisy so had a slightly disturbed sleep. But I don’t hold the venue responsible, it was just unfortunately very hot when I stayed!
