Casa Mayela Guest House

It was so clean, beautiful room in a beautiful house. Mayela is so kind and friendly.

This is a treasure. Located near bus terminal (Tracopa - one of the mayor bus lines in Costa Rica), on walking distance from mayor San Jose's museums: National museum, Pre-Columbian gold museum, and a Jade museum. The guesthouse is a nice old house with everything you need. The kitchen is well equipped. Everything is very clean. The owner, Senora Mayela, is a treasure as well, a warm-hearted person. She took the best care of me, and our conversations were delightful! If you need a cozy place to stay in downtown San Jose, look no further. This is it! Thank you, senora Mayela, for everything!

Very special place with a nice inner courtyard with trees and birds flying in. The owner nice and helpful.

The only bad thing was the bed which was to soft for me.

Extremely friendly hostess who will show you around the guest house. The room is perfect: very clean (the cleanest room we had during our 3-week tour of Costa Rica) and very spacious. Beautiful house with a very well equipped kitchen (which we did not use ourselves). Safe neighborhood (a bit out of the center, but the center itself felt rather unsafe after dark, so that's not a problem - close to China Town where you can eat good food). Center is walkable. No window in the room, but even that was not a problem because there is a window high above the entrance door that opens onto the (beautiful) courtyard. Price/quality is perfect.

Nothing. It exceeded our expectations.

I felt like I was at home. Very nice accommodations with a really cool and calm ambiance. There is a cure courtyard in the center where birds come and pop in. The host Mayela is amazing too. She treats you like you are a part of her family!

I liked everything.

This is run by the cutest little grandma I have ever met. She is very nice and will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The room is sizeable with a TV and Private Bathroom.

No hot water or AC

The owner was just lovely! Happy to accommodate you in any way possible. The place is relatively close to the city center (walking). It has a few restaurants, supermarkets, ATMs and Laundry close by also. Great internet. Big TV screen in the room with Netflix

The cars noise from the street!

The hostess was lovely. It was spotlessly clean with good kitchen facilities. It was a beautiful building.

The location although close to Chinatown is ok during the day but not sure I would feel happy walking on an evening.
