The bedrooms were clean, comfortable beds We were able to check in early at midday

We arrived back at our hotel after a wedding just after 11 pm. The pub was packed, very loud music playing and karaoke. We went to our rooms, and our daughter (room 2) decided that as she needed to work the following day, she would drive home to Manchester as it was far too noisy to sleep. My husband and I (room 3) and our friend (room 4) stayed but it was a very unpleasant stay. Not only did the noise prevent us from sleeping, but our room had a very unpleasant smell of drains coming from the bathroom. The extractor fan was not working. I looked online and it said the Wheatsheaf Inn closed at 12 midnight on Saturdays, but it was very noisy until approx 1 :30am. If we had known in advance that this would be the case we would have booked elsewhere. I am sure the rooms would have been acceptable midweek, providing the smell from the ensuite could be sorted. As it was, we paid for three rooms, used only two, and were extremely tired the next day.

Room was comfortable with good black out blinds and the shower had good water pressure. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

A little loud from the noise of the pub if you’re going to bed before closing time, but that’s to be expected!
