I was disappointed with the waiting staff in the dining room. Lacking in warmth - it felt like they weren’t very happy to be there.

Everything! Staff incredibly friendly, food and drink was all fabulous. The rooms were really comfy and incredibly my clean! It was a break only hour from home but we will be back! Superb

"Great stop over on our journey north"

This is a lovely old world hotel but very comfortable and quiet. Staff were so nice when I had to call to say we were running late for checking in as stuck on the M6 in traffic. No problem, just arrive safely. We were just in time to order a meal but being tired and travel weary having just a starter and desert was no issue. Food was delicious. First thing that came to the table was a bowl of water for the dogs. They are not just dog friendly they love dogs. The receptionist came through to our table to meet ours. There were dog biscuits in the room, a water bowl and a sheet of tips for dog walks. Made to feel very welcome. Facilities were excellent, the shower amazing, expensive toiletries and bottled water provided. Would be more than happy to stay again on our way north. We had the large family room with a double bed and bed settee.

Bit strange that no staff are on site over night. The room was a bit hot. We had trouble turning the radiator down but again it was no bother to come and help. The windows were a bit difficult to open and close.
