Big Sur River Inn

Excellent servers in restaurant!!! Delicious dinner and breakfast! Went for Surprise 50th Birthday weekend and we had a memorable weekend!

Outdoor public restrooms could have been cleaner.. but were rusticly decorated and convenient. No pedestrian crosswalk or pedestrian crosswalk warnings / lights for oncoming vehicles on hwy 1 to cross the hywy to our room...

The food and hospitality of the River Inn. Located just across the road from the rooms, the restaurant offers delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner at very reasonable prices. We ended up eating all of our breakfasts and dinners at the restaurant as the menu provided significant choice and the quality of food was very high. The staff were very friendly and amenable. The onsite general stores was also a bonus, which we used to purchase a picnic lunch for our hike. We really liked the bathroom products and the shower was also really good pressure and spacious.

The rooms themselves are relatively basic, although fixtures are modern. We experienced heavy rainfall during our stay, and the carpet around the door became damp from our coming and going - it would have been good to have an inside doormat to absorb the dampness. Pillows could also do with an upgrade, as they were extremely limp.

Beautiful area, lovely to relax by the river, food at restaurant was great and good kids menu and we loved the breakfast burritos at the store. Perfect place to unwind after a busy day exploring this beautiful area.

I liked the rustic feel of the room.

The restaurant have no variety manu.

It was a nice little room great value

It didn’t have the deck facing the river we ended up on the other side of the road. There was a no smoking within 20 feet of the room policy but and employee was smoking 10 feet away and we were down wind from him outside in the little porch. Also check in was at the bar which was a little odd. But you can check in at the office earlier in the day.
