Big Sur River Inn

The rooms are very close to the main road so it’s very noisy. There was no small fridge or microwave, no ice machine.

Too expensive

The location is good although the rooms are across the highway from the river area, which is behind the restaurant and shop. The room was clean and comfortable, it’s basically a roadside motel.

The price seems very high for the level of accommodation.

Walls are thin - booking made my reservation one day earlier which I didn’t see and had to pay an extra expensive day- carpet had stains - bathroom is small. Not a lot of amenities.

Rats in the attic. I could hear them at night.

It’s clean, has good amenities, a restaurant and store and location is great.

Reception was closed after 5pm, at 5:45pm on a Friday I had to check in at the bar and the bartender was so busy I had to wait 15-20 mins before I got checked in. Nobody wants to wait that long after a 5 hr road trip in a bar line. The front office girl really didn’t seem to like her job or people and was blatantly mean and sarcastic to us when she was on the phone and we walked in. Did she know she is in the “hospitality” business? There was a spider in my shower crawling up the shower curtain and a weird bug was crawling across my bed. I get I’m in the forest but this wasn’t pleasant but I got over it and didn’t complain because nobody was at reception both times…

Loved the area! Loved the little cabins and they were clean & comfy. Restaurant was good and fair priced.

Only thing that bugged us was check out was noon and we said we was checking out at 11. Came back to use our room before hitting the road and they were already cleaning our room.
