"It was ok, but will not be returning to The Goathland Hotel but possibly Goathland Grosmont area"

6.0

The Heartbeat connection and the location. The bed was hard and superb for me, breakfast was very good, the Black Sheep Bitter was really good, the barman was ok as well. The hotel was authentic seventies to the extent that was probably the last time the place was spruced up, the bar shut at 9.30pm and there is an 11pm curfew so make sure you’re back in time. We didn’t try the evening meals we preferred to go to the pub across the road where at least they pretended they was pleased to see us. The staff in the pub across the road are far better in every respect than the staff at The Goathland but overall I enjoyed the stay
