The Red Lion, Stretham

Check in was quick and easy and the rooms were spotless . Dinner was very good with huge portions and a good choice of dishes .Breakfast was very good but there doesn't seem to be a choice, we were given full English and were not given any alternatives which we were happy with so wasn't a problem . Car parking is free and easy with a large car park.

The place could do with a lick of paint here and there but as the hotel is under new ownership I'm sure this is on the list of things to do

Clean comfortable. Provided me with a fan on a very warm night.

The karaoke singers were awful

Lovely heart of the village pub with friendly staff. With a very nice beer garden.

The room was in need of redecoration and the shower was in need of attention.

In a great position for visiting Ely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a freshly cooked breakfast at a very reasonable price.

Listed phone number unavailable so unable to contact. VERY noisy as party venue. No mention of this when booking. Difficult to exit at 7.45am as no one around and doors locked. Truly awful.

It was pretty good location suited us well .

They seemed to have one or two staff problems which they did finally resolve. The owner arrived and solved the staffing Problem but seemed to be more concerned about collecting payment for meals etc… including knocking on on our door and asking for payment on the spot instead of letting us settle up when we checked out. Like normal hotels . I have never in 70 plus years of travelling ever been asked for this before. It would probably be helpful if she let her staff collect payment.
