Ardennan House Hotel

Dinner and breakfast were very good but busy and we felt sorry for the staff having to cope. The breakfast serving area was very small and inadequate for the number of diners trying to get their drinks, cereals, toast etc.

Unusual that our room was in a type of bungalow away from the main house and overlooking a rather drab car park. We had problems trying to unlock and lock the bedroom door.

Great staff, food at the onsite restaurant was amazing. Located just a little ways out of town so you can’t walk to anything that we saw, but that was fine with us.

No A/C. By 3am, we had to open the windows even though it was raining and in the 30’s (Fahrenheit) because there was no way to make it cooler in our room. I woke up sweating and could not go back to sleep for hours until the room cooled. I also travel with a travel fan and it wasn’t even helping. Carpets were also in need of a deep clean but the rest of the property was clean from what we saw.

Excellent food with comfortable bed and clean room. Very friendly staff

Not much to like after being told we had missed evening food by 10 minutes. No offer of anything to eat just no you’ve missed it. Had to get taxi into town for a meal. Skinny guy with the funny glasses needs a lesson on how to deal with people. For £180 for bed and breakfast Breakfast was poor Definitely will not be back we usually stay in Alford at the Haughton Arms far more pleasant staff . You should advertise as a restaurant with rooms not a hotel

The staff were lovely and so was the meals in the restaurant.
