Fox and Pheasant Inn

We have stayed at The Fox and Pheasant a few times over the years when we travel from the North of Scotland to Yorkshire and always look forward to this. We are never disappointed with any aspect of our stay.

Nothing we can think of.

Wonderful night's stay at this lovely friendly pub and the staff were most helpful letting us put the bikes in a safe place for the night. The en-suite twin room we booked was perfect, comfortable and had everything we needed and we enjoyed our evening bar meal too, service was great and staff really friendly.

Meals were next level. Lovely atmosphere, beautifully restored and decorated.

Exceptional location next to River Eden and a lovely village. Dog friendly.

The room was lovely uncomfortable. The bed was comfortable. Shower perfect. Staff were exceptional, very attentive and polite. Food out of this world, really nice.

My only gripe was no Internet access and no dog bed and bowls as advertised.

Beautiful countryside location. Fabulous large comfy bedroom. Good food, bar and beer garden. Pleasant and obliging staff. On site parking. Loved our stay.

We have stayed many ,many times in the past with friends followed by a long period of illness, now we have returned. The breakfast and dinner foods were excellent as usual. The staff are very willing and pleasant. The panoramic views from the bright and airy en-suite bedrooms are a joy but there was a problem here.

Unfortunately the bedroom smelled very strongly of dogs, especially from the carpets. We had to sleep with the windows open. This has never happened in the past. Dogs were allowed in the bar but never in the rooms.
