Baldachin Inn

Loved that there is an Inn in Merrickville.

Air conditioner quit in early evening. Temperature remained ok with fan tho. No bedside table one side of room. Very tight quarters. Bed was really comfortable.

No breakfast. But very quaint room.

Romantic room.

Camere datate, ma comode e pulite, struttura molto caratteristica, praticamente in centro, parcheggio privato di fronte all'ingresso, ottima sistemazione, ci tornerei.

Très jolie et très bien situé. Nous avons apprécié la crème pour le café au frigo.

The Baldachin Inn is well located in the middle of town with lots of nice shops and cafes close by. As well the Rideau Canal is right across the street. The Inn itself is very old and dated. As previous people have stated the stairs are very long especially if you are on the 3rd floor. The staff are very friendly and helpful but later at night there is one around. We had a problem with the toliet plugging. I had walk around the hallway and I eventually found a closet with a plunger 🪠. I then had to work on the toliet myself. Not a good experience. The bed was ok. The A/C in the window was very noisy and really not adequate to cool the room. We didn't have a good sleep because of this. We ate in the restaurant downstairs. Our meal was just ok, the Pickerel was overcooked and very dry. The schnitzel was also overcooked and dry. I would suggest going down the street to the Main Street Diner. We had a good meal there. For a one night stay the Inn would be ok. I would recommend moving to Kempville for the night.

The stairs of course. The plumbing is very dated. The restaurant could do better with its food preparation.
