Stayed in mid November and weather was very cold and wet but The Black Swan was very cosy and relaxing so the weather didn’t matter. The food was very good and served in perfectly sized portions; it was definitely restaurant quality not ‘pub’ food. There was a very good choice on the evening menu and the breakfast menu. The staff were all very nice, friendly and helpful.

Shower was the best I've come across. Clean.

The room was described as 'king' so was expecting something a little bigger then we got. Short staffed at breakfast time, had to wait a lengthy period on first morning. Limited menu on an evening, understanable at this time of year.

Lovely, cosy place.

Lovely room, very comfortable bed, although didn't feel like a king-size. Food was very good, staff friendly helpful and considerate. Very clean all in all a very nice stay.

Bed didn't seem as big as a king size

Lovely cosy hotel, friendly staff and good location away from crowds. We were warmly welcomed and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The bar area was used by residents and visitors and had a homely feel. It’s the sort of place I would visit time and again. The breakfast choice was good too. Nice to be served from a menu rather than the usual breakfast buffet.

Minor criticism was that our fish was over cooked but a mention to the server was sensibly dealt with. We didn’t complain as such but just wanted the chef to know for other guests.
