Clarkeston Inn

The inn matched the atmosphere of the entire city very well. The staff was very kind and the breakfast delicious.

Very cozy, the staff is super friendly, and the made to order breakfast was delicious. Location is excellent, minutes walk to everything fun about downtown Newport.

Parking is TIGHT!! There is a trick to the exterior lock to remove your key. We were not told of this and spent a good amount of time trying to get the key out. I finally called and it was super easy to do...if you know!! Neither of these minor inconveniences reflect on the awesome staff or the warmth & charm of the property. I've already booked my next stay!

Location was excellent to all sites, and restaurants. Rick was an excellent host and the staff was very helpful & friendly. Breakfast was very good, and freshly made.

The air conditioning was not very good. I also did not like the size of the bathroom/shower. The noise from the room above us was very loud and I did not sleep. I had no idea there were rooms at top of staircase behind a locked doors. I definitely feel we deserve a refund for our Friday night stay since I did not sleep.

The room had lots of upkeep flaws - the tub was coming apart, there were unrepaired chips and bumps in the walls. The blinds were broken. There is no housekeeping. We were "upgraded" because we did not want a third floor room, but I doubt that the room was any better. Also, they expect you to have breakfast at an assigned time, and were not very gracious that we slept late.

The staff was very polite and upgraded us upon checking in. The breakfast was great and the whole area was charming and relaxing.

It’s a really charming older hotel with clean rooms, hot showers and great AC. It’s also just steps away from the heart of town.

Everything was charming and the young staff more than polite.
