Leisure Dream Inn

All of the staff were so friendly and Shan went above and beyond to help us with transfers. He is very helpful and was always there to give advice and organise transfers. The view from the room and the breakfast table is amazing each morning. The breakfast is huge- we couldn't finish it! We had laundry done which was excellent in quality and efficiency. The room had air-conditioning, tv, a kettle, fridge etc so everything we needed. The location is a little outside Ella, about 10 minutes walk on an unlit hilly busy road (so use your phone light) but we prefer this for peacefulness as Ella is very loud. Tuk tuks were 500lkr so quite reasonable if you didn't want to walk.

The main issue we had would be the bathroom which was very small, outdated and the smell from the drain was very bad. It seemed to get worse each night. The room is quite small so it was a little difficult to move around with our big suitcases- there is no wardrobe. There is no safe in the room- something we have noticed across all of Sri Lanka.

Gorgeous views and breakfast was fantastic. Nothing better than sitting on the veranda with a cup of tea. The staff were so lovely, always around for a chat or help planning an excursion if needed, we would recommend the Leisure Dream Inn to anyone.

Beautiful views and incredibly friendly service!

Perfect location, just out of the main hub but still an easy tuktuk or walk into all the cafes and shops. The views were just amazing from the rooms (and your own personal chunk of terrace) - waterfall with trains, Ella Rock, Little Adam’s Peak, and long views from up high down to the plains in the far distance below. Room and bathroom were huge, a little damp after the big rains just before we arrived, but aired out quickly (you’re in nature anyway!). Breakfast was the best we have had in 10 days (and multiple hotels and guest houses of all descriptions) in Sri Lanka - and we heard other guests saying the same. Last but definitely not least, all of the team, and Shan in particular, couldn’t have been more welcoming - they became our friends by the time we left. My husband was injured so couldn’t experience all of the outdoor hiking activities we’d planned in Ella - but of all the places he had to hang out with a book, this was hands-down his favourite!

The hosts were all great and really chill fellas, super friendly and helpful. Lovely Sri Lankan breakfast in the morning. The location was great as well, really close to the main centre of Ella. Decent WiFi.

The room and bathroom felt a little damp but it didn't detract from the experience at all.

The hospitality was fantastic and Shan was phenomenal in giving us local knowledge and answering all of our questions regarding what to do during our stay and how to structure our days in Ella. The view of the place was absolutely breathtaking with a waterfall to the right and Ella rock to the left, and it was so lovely having breakfast bought to us while we got to take all the nature in. They had a tuk tuk driver - also called Shan - who was prompt and value for money get us where we needed to be. They lent us a power adapter too while we stayed and were always willing to help out with any questions that we had :) We will absolutely be coming back again and recommend this accommodation highly!

More an observation as it is to be expected with Ella’s climate - room was quite damp, we put the AC on dehumidifying setting to counteract this. This is probably unavoidable but just to note. Bathroom gets very very steamy and damp and had a window that we could only open as I am 6’1. Girlfriend is quite tall too but couldn’t reach. Some sort of exhaust fan would really help with this too.

The location of this hotel is absolutely beautiful, situated just outside the city center, with a scenic 9-minute walk (though it is an incline). It's nice and quiet with the sound of the waterfall in the background. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel welcomed throughout your stay. Breakfast is amazing, and they are very accommodating when it comes to food allergies. Additionally, the hot water in the shower was nice :)

The photos on the booking site are quite outdated. The rooms show many signs of wear, and the walls are definitely not as white as depicted in the pictures. We also encountered mold in the bathroom and on one of the bathroom curtains. Additionally, the ventilation is poor, which contributes to a humid atmosphere in the room, making it difficult for towels and other clothing to dry properly.

The views from the room terrace were amazing. Sharne the host was a great guy and made our stay more pleasurable. About 10 minutes to walk to Ella town. Adam’s peak and Nine arch bridge walkable as well. Great breakfast each day. For the price paid, we were happy with the accommodation

The bathroom was quite small. The actual room we stayed in could do with re-decorating but we were happy enough. Had all the facilities that we needed.
