Wood Heart

The view was amazing, all the way across valley, could see Ravena waterfalls and so many birds. Hosts were welcoming and the breakfast on our balconies was incredible - so much good food prepared with much care and generosity. A really fun cute easy walk into town down some steps and along the train tracks.

Downstairs room doesn't have the floor to ceiling glass windows like upstairs has - was initially expecting that from some of the photos, but was still a wonderful place to stay.

Great view, comfortable beds, nice breakfast, friendly hosts.

The room was beautifully designed and very modern with an outstanding view across to a waterfall. The staff were very helpful. It was so relaxing sitting on the lovely balcony. The excellent Sri Lankan breakfast is served on the balcony. There are several good restaurants within walking distance.

Everything was perfect.

Exceptionally welcoming host made us feel at home from the very beginning. Breakfast was a highlight - served right on our balcony each morning, with a different, delicious Sri Lankan specialty every day. The view from the apartment was absolutely stunning, and we were even able to watch the sunrise from our balcony.

The host has been very attentive and nice. It’s a cheap stay for what you get, so don’t expect luxury. It’s a repurposed house, where they sublet rooms, if your plan is to come to Ella, stay out visiting all day and coming back to sleep, this place does the job. Wifi was very good and the room size was good.

There are many steps to get to the property, if you have any sort of mobility issues, probably not the best place. Unfortunately, despite the amazing view, we had massive banana trees right in front of us, so you cannot enjoy it. We didn’t have a TV in our room, but seeing the pictures some rooms might have. The room needs some upgrades and the bathroom shower has no screen, so water splashes.
