Ice Bear Bar & Tourist Inn

The owners were really friendly. The family room had everything we needed. Good value for money. Breakfast was also very good. Specially enjoyed the Danish breakfast (owner is a Filipino - Danish couple), such a nice change from usual SEA cuisine. Was very quiet.

The roads leading to the resort were narrow and not well lit. Arrive in daytime hours for best traveling to and from.

Ice Bear Bar and Inn offers a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city, nestled amidst lush greenery with minimal neighboring residences. The pricing is excellent, especially considering the perks included with your stay. Guests enjoy full access to the family bar, which features an extensive selection of drinks, a collection of books, and an MP4 playlist displayed on the large-screen TV. The inn also provides unrestricted access to their pool, allowing you to relax at your convenience. Additionally, their complimentary breakfast is generous, typically including two eggs, hotdogs, a cup of rice, and a beverage, tailored to your preferences.

While Ice Bear Bar and Inn has its charm, there are some areas that could use improvement. During my visit, it seemed the establishment might be struggling to maintain its former appeal. With only two staff members attending to guests, their lack of enthusiasm and warmth was noticeable, which impacted the overall experience. The ambiance of the inn felt more like an outdated, cluttered home than a well-maintained retreat. The room I stayed in carried an air of neglect, as though it held remnants of forgotten memories. The walls were visibly worn, with peeling paint barely clinging on, and the furniture arrangement resembled that of an old boarding house. On the bright side, there were plenty of power outlets in the room — at least seven — which was practical, though unexpected. Unfortunately, mosquitoes were a persistent issue, seemingly more welcoming than the staff themselves. With some attention to detail and a boost in hospitality, this place could regain its potential as a peaceful getaway.
