This is a nice, mostly calm place to stay, in a very scenic location with sweeping views of a valley and steps from the church in the old medieval town of Ourem. I was in a single room, which was very clean but basic with a small TV, no closet--just a few hangers on a rack, and no refrigerator. I'd recommend it for a relaxing weekend away from the crowds of Fatima (~30 min. drive), where you can stay in the outskirts but still get to the shrine relatively easily. They had a small coffee/tea area in the attic, which opens out into a balcony area with a spectacular view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy except when someone had a party on Saturday afternoon, so I just went down the hill and drove to see the dinosaur footprints nearby for a couple of hours. I would stay again given the chance.

It is off the beaten path, so the options for meals or even snacks nearby are minimal, and there is not much to do in the town itself. The room I was in was literally on the street facing a small bar where people were talking until late on Friday night (sounded fun and it wasn't bothersome), but you could hear their entire conversation, and I'm sure they could hear you shower or flush the toilet :-| ...Unless, I suppose, you hermetically sealed yourself in. Otherwise, it was a great place for a quiet weekend away.

The location was exceptional, the view from the terrace amazing.

The futon "bed" was an audacity, and should not be allowed to be called an extra bed. Super hard and uncomfortable. Should be exchanged.

It was quiet and clean. We didn’t realise it was situated in a medieval village on top of a hill which was fun. Matilda’s restaurant was lovely and Matilda herself was extremely welcoming.

We were disappointed to find out that the terrace restaurant was closed as this was the main reason we booked here. The bed was very hard.

Small room, clean, comfy bed& conveniently located.

Room size and a bit difficult to access room due to lock. Communication a bit difficult after hours.

Very nice hotel And very attractive place, opposite the churche.
