Sülfmeister Haus

Reading some of the reviews, I was initially worried about the condition of the property (it's old, that cannot be changed). However, it is exetremely well maintained and very clean overall. The shared facilities - shower, toilets, kitchen, etc. - don't feel old at all. The single room can feel small for some, but it suited my 4-night stay with a carry-on. The room was equipped with everything I needed and the shared kitchen was convinient (and clean). The host was welcoming and accommodating. The location is excellent - close enough to the central station (15-20 min walk) and just a few minutes to the centre. A very big supermarket is right next door. For me it was also within walking distance to my meeting place. I'm glad I stayed Sülfmeister Haus over other options near the station.

As noted in the description, the shower and toilet are shared, meaning depending on who you're sharing with, it could cause minor irritation. While my neighbours were generally considerate, it seemed somewhat inevitable for them to make some noise when using the toilet or shower. I personally wasn't bothered too much, but for those more sensitive, a little reminder might help - it is mentioned in the booklet but I doubt many would take the time to read it.

Comfortable, quiet, centrally located and if you're doing a long trip there's a washing machine available. Highly recommend.

Its proximity to the grocery store and city center/train station. The windows were very nice for a view. The facilities in general were comfortable and clean.

The stairs were narrow and a little difficult to navigate at night. It was a bit inconvenient to have to go down a level or two for the bathroom when staying on the top floor.
