Whistling Winds Motel

The room was just what we needed for our stay. It was close to the beach and very clean.

The Whistling Winds motel is a hidden gem in Lincoln City. First of all, Kathy, the manager, was very welcoming and helpful. She is a sweet and thoughtful person. There is parking right outside each room. The motel is a few steps from the beach. You can hear the waves from the patio. It is within a mile to Safeway, and my personal favorite, the brand new First Choice Market (you can get delicious ready to eat pizza, fried chicken and sushi or several prepared deli selections , as well as wonderful bakery items, there). Apparently all the rooms are unique at the motel so I can only attest to room 11 where we stayed. We stayed there 5 days and found it comfy and clean. It reminds me of the interior of a cabin in the woods, filled with country furnishings. There's a gas fireplace in the living room (which was nice and cozy to sit by in the morning when it was cool in the room) and a sofa bed. There's a fully stocked kitchen with a full size fridge, a range with an oven and cooktop, a coffee maker, toaster and microwave. This made it convenient to prepare our meals, instead of eating out every day. There's a separate bedroom with a queen size bed which was very comfy and quiet. The bathroom was a stand up stall shower, kind of hard to navigate in, but did its job. The motel doesn't provide daily housekeeping, if that is important to you it is something to consider. But all we needed to do was ask Kathy and she provided fresh towels or anything else we required. Overall, I highly recommend this motel, particularly room 11 and look forward to our return.

We love staying at Whistling Winds! It is a short distance from the beach and the rooms are always clean and cozy. It feels like a cabin with the wood walls and stained glass windows. We always get a warm welcome when we arrive and the innkeeper is very responsive to any requests or needs. There is an outdoor fire pit enclosed by glass walls and it’s nice to relax there after a day exploring Lincoln City.

It was clean, comfortable and cute! Loved the room and the jacuzzi with robes. We like the little fire pit area but unfortunately didn’t get back in time to use it after buying stuff for s’mores. The awesome lady at the front desk is amazing and very helpful. It was walking distance to beach access which is wonderful! We were able to walk to a couple of garage sales too 😊

The way 2 other guests parked made it hard for us to get out of our Jeep when we got back from dinner. The bed frame was noisy. No AC but we managed with the fan that was provided.

Kathy made us feel like family from the moment we booked. We had to change our reservations a few times and she was an angel each time. The room was amazing and felt like home. The fire pit was a lovely touch as was the BBQ area. We look forward to staying again soon!

It had a truly homey feel. It started in the office with I believe was the owner. It was 6 hrs past when we had said we were going to check in and like 10 at night. The lady in the office and wish I remembered her name. She was so kind. She reminded me of what it was like growing up in the country. Very trusting, very take a person for their word, very caring and hospitable. Also could tell a strong woman. The rooms are comfortable. They make you feel at home. The bed was comfortable. There is a full size hot tub in the room. I had champagne and candles I had bought for the occasion. I had proposed ro my girlfriend earlier in the day. She couldn't get over the hot tub and didnt want to get out. I slept so well and that isnt usually the case staying at new places for me. I traveled for work on a drill rig and the first 3 nights somewhere I usually don't sleep much. I woke up more refreshed than I have been in awhile. Did I also mention this place is like 100 bucks cheaper a night than most other hotels in the area. We are making this our new place to stay while visiting Lincoln City. Thank you guys at Whistling Winds. You can tell how hard yall work and how goes into what you do for everyone. Oh, as we pulled in at 10 o'clock.
