Historic Sion Bass Guest House

The Jacuzzi tub was great. We liked the Roku tv that we could program with our streaming services. The owners said we could checkin early (though we ran late and didn’t need to.)

The smoke! Guests in another room were either smoking in their room or smoking right outside the back door and our room stank of smoke in the morning. I messaged the owners (who aren’t on site) but didn’t get a reply. We left early. There was also a bright, large exit sign in our room which was not conducive to sleeping in a dark room. Be aware that the stairs are steep to 2nd floor. And there is a busy road in front of the house.

This house was an excellent location. It was very easy to walk to everything that we wanted to see.

Convenient and affordable.

Very minimal room. Just a bed, sink, and toilet. The shower is a pop-up style. This property needs a deep clean.

Unique and special. Really enjoyed reading about the history of the house. Wi-Fi ok. Good location. Very interesting shower. Parking included. Nice garden area. Easy self check in, clear instructions.

Main light bulb was out. Bed was uncomfortable. Not enough towels in the room or in the storage area we were told to search.

Love the room it was beautiful, easy to get to. Very secure felt safe.

The air conditioning did not work. Very upset. It was extremely hot in the room we could barely sleep.

The communication w the host was very good. The self check in instructions were clear and easy.

The bed was uncomfortable, it looked like a king but was actually two twin beds pushed together, with a gap down the middle, so it wasn’t the most comfortable. A few suggestions for the bathroom - provide a towel rack/hand towel near the sink, a bath mat for the tub/shower, and a privacy window covering/shade for the window. Provide Kleenex. Drinking glasses/bottled water would also be a nice touch.

Overall dirty, ok after cleaning. slow response to messages, dismissed request messages completely.

The room was well decorated. The place is central. They sent an e-mail ahead of time explaining the mechanism of the check-in without staff, via keypads. Parking is easy.

The coffee was great, but the "breakfast" consisted of some granola bars etc. There is no phone in the room! There is no way or reaching staff, but I did manage to bump into one later. The hotel (now Lasalle B & B) changed names, but the new name does not correspond with the name on Booking.com.

No breakfast provided. We brought electric kettle and used fridge provided in room. It was chilly upon arrival, but electric fire place made it cozy.

Face cloth in bathroom had been used!! There were black with white embroidery that says "makeup". No sink stopper so I ran hot water over it to refresh my face that had no makeup on. I was appalled when I picked up the cloth and found someone else's make up smeared on the sink. Comparing the 2 face cloths, one embroidery was clearly not white and had absorbed make up and had not been washed. The other one the embroidery was white...it was clean. Pulling back the blanket and top sheet I don't believe the sheets were newly clean for our stay. There were the tiny wrinkles pressed in from previous occupiers.
