"More basic place to sleep but spectacular view."

7.0

The location was incredible, it had the most spectacular view ever. Sleeping with the sounds of the jungle and waking up with an astonishing view.

The facilities of the place itself are rather basic. The bathroom is half in open air, but when it started raining that meant that the entire bathroom got soaking wet. Breakfast options offered on the menu were not all available.

"Great location, friendly staff; but mold in many spots."

7.0

Loved the friendly staff, and location overviewing rice fields. There is a great SPA 5 minutes walking too.

There was mold in the open bathroom, on the toilet paper and even on the bedsheets. The rooms can use a refreshment especially bathrooms.

"Pleasant"

6.0

Beautiful view, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and caring. Had some nice chats with him. Room has a good size.

There is no roof over the bathroom, which would be nice if it wouldn't have rained all the time. So I got wet every time I went to the Toilette, there was also no hot water - so I couldn't shower once, because it was very cool due to the heavy rain. There was construction works going on, which was not described in the booking, so no restaurant and cooking classes and so on.

"Very basic accommodation that provided a comfortable bed and served our purpose while in Sidemen."

6.0

The staff were extremely polite, pleasant and helpful. They happily stored items we needed to keep cold in their fridge. The breakfast was pretty good - the pancakes were quite filling. The room was pretty basic but was what you should expect for the price paid. The bed was comfortable. The room was very quiet and had a very pleasant outlook across the valley. There was a great warung just around the corner with the best chicken spring rolls in Bali.

The ensuite was completely outdoors which meant getting rather wet while using the toilet while it was raining. The toilet didn't flush in the conventional way - you had to lift the entire cistern lid which had a string attached to the valve. You had to turn the tap off to the cistern once it filled, otherwise a leak resulted in a pool of water around the toilet. Ants were a bit of a problem.

Nice view

Well.. It's hard to find... room full of insects.. there is a holes in room wich impossible to close..bathroom was open, and when it's rains, u will get wet every time u use toilet or shower.. duvet had no any cover.. basically how many ppl was using it.. I don't think they change duvet after every person.. bedsheets and towels could be better.. honestly I didn't like to stay there and I don't felt comfortable..all great reviews I read was nothing like my experience..

"Good"

The view from the room and the surrounding countryside is pretty spectacular.

If you're not comfortable with insects especially ants, there can be quite a few outside on the seating area and in the open bathroom as you're very much in the countryside with this stay.

"Gorgeous views, friendly staff, clean place."

9.0

Clean, bright, gorgeous balcony views, staff couldn’t do enough. My boyfriend was sick and the young man from the neighbouring property that own this building brought dinner to our room and checked on us.

Difficult to find but in a way, makes it more secluded!

"Serene, clean, and with views that are like a dream!"

9.0

A magical little gem nestled at the back of some traditional Balinese family compounds, and right on the edge of paradise! One really could just sit and stare at the view all day, listening to the birds and cicadas and watching the light change. Large, clean and comfortable room in extremely quiet and peaceful surroundings. Yudi (sp?) and his family are all lovely. He went above and beyond on the day I arrived, taking me into 'town' on his scooter so I could buy something that wasn't readily available close by. The small inconveniences listed below tend to melt away in the overall context of how lovely the location is. Overall, incredible value for the money. You won't regret it!

To be honest, I thought other reviewers were just being babies when they mentioned getting wet in the open-air bathroom when it rains, but it turns out it really is pretty unpleasant going out to pee in the middle of the night in a downpour, sitting on a wet toilet seat in the rain, and then going back to bed all wet. I love the whole open-air concept for Indonesian bathrooms, but generally it's only the shower area that's open and then the rest is covered. This one unfortunately misses the mark and the entire bathroom gets soaked. You can't even really leave toilet paper out there. Hopefully they can find a fix for it. But if it's not raining, you're all good! Service was very good in the beginning but started to slip a little after the first day or two. I sat in the breakfast area for 20 minutes or more on a couple of mornings waiting for someone to appear, and finally went searching/calling into their home. I'm not usually too uptight about such things or in a big hurry, but one of the mornings I had a tour booked and I ended up having to wolf my food by the time we got breakfast sorted. I agree that an Indonesian breakfast option would be nice to have. Solo female travellers should take note that the location of the rooms is a bit isolated (which is also what makes it so beautiful and serene!) There are only 2 rooms, the family doesn't live onsite, and there aren't any neighbours. If nobody's staying in the second room, you're totally on your own out there. It didn't bother me, but some might be uncomfortable with it, particularly at night. Not a criticism of the property, just a heads up for my solo girls out there! And a few other tiny things, like they could use more electrical outlets in the rooms, etc. Not a big deal :)
