Hostal Oscar Inn

The staff were friendly, they were very helpful providing taxis and tours for reasonable prices. The location is ideal, right near the main square. The breakfast area has lovely views over the city and the lake. Breakfast was basic but plentiful. The low cost made it decent value for money.

The hotel is quite basic, which I guess is to be expected for the price. The room was very cold (was there in the winter) as there was no heating. Out of three showers, only one had hot water, which was tough given the cold outside. There was no housekeeping during my stay, so I ran out of toilet paper. There was also no toilet roll in either of the bathrooms in the communal areas. There was an inappropriate, pornographic calendar in the reception which made me very uncomfortable.

I booked a single room but got a double room which was pretty big and also had a lot of storage space and strong, hot shower. The staff was very friendly and even let me stay in the lounge the day after when I had to wait for my nightbus to leave.

The room was quite noisy during the night. Both from the street and the hallway. It would have been nice if they offered an alternative for bread, since I am allergic to gluten and could only eat the egg at breakfast.

Good location close to main plaza and restaurant at night, breakfast was good eggs, bread, cheese, ham and tea. Served breakfast at 6:20am so we had time to quickly have it before getting a 7am bus to Bolivia. Good place for 1 night for a stopover

Very friendly and well organized staff who helped us to make our stay in Puno as smooth as possible.
