The Woodman Inn

The worst hotel experience I have ever had! There are spiders and spider webs in every corner of the room... The hotel is infested with bed bugs,we spotted around 14 bugs, I wish we were able to upload more than 4 images. I have contacted the local newspaper to see if they will publish the images of the spiders and bedbugs and allow us to share our story to prevent others from having to go through this! I have ended up in hospital due to a reaction to the bites and I'm yet to even receive a response from booking.com. We were bitten severely and called the numbers listed as their contact numbers and emergency contact numbers hoping we'd be relocated but there was no response. We also tried to enter the main reception, but were locked in a hotel building separate to the main hotel reception at the back with no access to the reception area until 7.30 AM. So in the end we had no option but to sit on chairs all night waiting to hear back from the staff. We also called booking.com for support, spent 2 hours and 40 minutes on calls hoping they could help, but each time we were placed on hold, they hung up! When we eventually got through to the reception area at 7.30 in the morning, we were promised a refund, which has not been given. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!

Lovely location great staff

Good friendly staff especially the lady who served breakfast on the first day. The food was fairly good in the evening and okay for breakfast.

It would have been nice to have had some more healthy options at breakfast e.g fruit.

The room was big, had a cool leather sofa in it. Bed was very comfy

It was honestly all good.

Location, perfect for the wedding we were attending. Heating effective - towel rail really warmed the bathroom. Friendly staff.

No decafe coffee within room. We didn't ask for any as we were heading out. The carpets felt a bit dirty from people's shoes. It was vacuumed well, with no bits though. Lighting in the main room over the mirror - poor. No hooks in bathroom. Breakfast - was ok. Fresh fruit would be nice to see. Maybe fresh musli and pastries too.

Nice spacious room. Great food too

Property was very good, location was excellent, staff friendly and very accommodating! Food and drink was very good in the restaurant. The night was finished splendidly with a group of local musicians playing a variety of music and songs for over 2 hours. This apparently happens every Wednesday night and it was a great nights entertainment. Definitely will return here again! And hope it turns out to be a Wednesday night again! Bravo!
