"Fantastic pub, lovely staff, welcoming and hospitable. Not suitable for prams or wheelchair users."

7.0

The staff and pub were lovely. Everyone was so helpful and kind, even making me a pizza after they stopped serving! The inside of the pub was really cute, warm and cosy- the bed I stayed in was one of the softest and cosiest beds I have ever been in! I stayed as I was looking for houses to rent and it was in perfect location to get up and go to all the locations.

My journey was quite unique, and it's more of a heads-up critique to anyone else in my position staying. I stayed with just myself and my baby and therefore had a pram. This pub is very friendly and does welcome families, however, I wouldn't say it's wheelchair or pram accessible/ friendly. There are many stairs and doors that make it incredibly tricky to navigate pushing/ carrying a pram through so if you were deciding to stay with a baby, I wouldn't. It is also really difficult to get hold of someone before 5pm (the pub doesn't open until then) which can be very difficult if you have any issues. Again though, this was a very unique experience. Solo travellers and couples would have a fantastic time!

"Beautiful pub with beautiful people, what more can you ask for"

10.0

Beautiful pub, steeped in history, in a lovely village with lots to do. On entering your welcomed with a great smile from a member of staff who I soon found out to be the landlady and, what an asset to the pub industry she is. She is knowledgeable about the area, makes great food, has excellent array of real ales which were absolutely wonderful, one hell of an amazing music list which on my next visit I am going to steal a copy. After meeting the locals , it just enhance the already amazing atmosphere, I’m still chuckling over some of the stories. The Food. Plenty of home cooked food which smelt amazing, I didn’t get to try it as the website said the pub was closed on Tuesday so I ate out, however when I arrived I was told they are open everyday ( change website lovely landlady). The room. My room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed and some real furniture, rather than a clothes racks you get in some of the modern hotels. There is also a flatscreen tv, table and chairs and a view to the street which was very nice. Bathroom. Now normally I am very funny with sharing a bathroom but here there is only 1 other room so it actually felt like my bathroom which was spotless with a large shower plenty of toiletries and very nice towels. I travel pretty much all the time and I’ve got to say the Jolly Sailor,is the landlady, a true asset to this pub, and the industry, look after her.

I wasn’t there longer

The staff were pleasant and efficient. The room was clean and comfortable. Facilities were good and clean, although the shower and toilet were shared facilities. Over all a pleasant stay.

Shared shower and toilet facilities. Access was limited after the pub closed.

"1 night stay at Jolly Sailor"

7.0

The accommodation was in a great location as it was just a 10 minute drive from Esrick where I attended a wedding during the day. The room was very clean and the staff were very welcoming and helpful.

The only negative was that being a pub you could hear the noise from downstairs into the room. Also the shower isn't very powerful to start off with but if you leave it running 5 minutes then the shower becomes powerful.

The host was super nice, and welcomed us as if we were family. The bar downstairs was great and had a very authentic atmosphere. The shared kitchen was a very nice addition.

Bathroom is shared, there is no ensuite Bad was small and made things a little awkward since we were 2 friends travelling
