Art Maya Rooms

The rooms were spacious, and the staff were kind (we even got a WhatsApp from one of them following check out, as my husband had left his phone charger in the room!). I thought the location might be a bit too far out, but it really doesn't take long to walk at all!

We found the water to be warm rather than hot from the shower.

Gorgeous family run guesthouse. Super friendly and helpful hosts. Beautiful murals and lovely quiet relaxing atmosphere. Fully equipped kitchen. Gorgeous hammocks to relax in the shade.

Guests should be aware that the owners have a young german-shepherd dog who is not fully trained (at the time of our stay)

Very friendly people, great to hang out in the hammocks under the palm trees. They even invited me to have a delicious Yucatan chicken with them. Thank you again!!

Nice garden with hamakas and cocopalmas. Nice people inthere. Our host was a drunken sailor, but good and likeable.

Smoking in the kitchen. There was´t any breakfast. In childrens room there was a strange musty smell.

Quieter part of Holbox. 5 mins to local market for breakfast. Less than 10 mins walk to beach. Really friendly family owned. Mother and daughter speak great English. Daughter went out her way (cycled into town) to arrange a taxi buggy as phone signal was poor that day. Also kindly lent us beach towels as we forgot ours at the previous place. feel really bad as I forgot to tip for the housekeeping and the kind use of beach towels. Has better than average Holbox wifi, sometimes great, sometimes poor. Tip: a "secret" ATM (from a bank) is located on the 2nd floor of the town hall by the main square. No signs for it. Other ATMs were out of money and no doubt charged a fee. Can rent beach loungers at the beach.. turn left (ie go west) and pay less than if you turn right. Taxi buggy to ferry or vice versa cost between 100 and 150 peso.

Poor phone signal, but that is not the fault of the property. Didn't realise until the end that the kitchen was for communal use, ie you could use the facilities. Maybe would have been told this if one of the English speakers was there when we arrived.

Room was comfortable and clean. Staff was super friendly! My daughter loved the hamacas. It is 15 min away from the beach so it is a quick walk or if you prefer, you can rent a golf cart.

Make sure you bring anti bug spray.
