"Nice little pub, in a nice quiet village with a barn like conversion made into extra rooms."

8.0

We were put in a different room outside of the pub again due to having dogs which was perfectly fine and better for us and the dogs. Food was lovely, 2 of the staff behind the bar were lovely.

Was gutted to be told once we had arrived and paid for our stay that they weren't serving breakfast the following morning but wasn't told why . Few bits need a quick fix in the room we stayed in, couple of little bits of dirt/dust but nothing too major. Hasn't put us off staying again.

"Very nicer place to stay, but left hungry"

8.0

Staff was good. Dinner was very nice. Rooms are spacious and very clean.

Disappointed there is no breakfast during the week. The nearby café only starts serving at 8:30 which is too late for business travellers.

"Great stopover, 10minutes from A1 road"

9.0

For us, it’s a dog-friendly, halfway stopover on our journeys from south to north UK. Accommodation is in the converted stables (?) at the back of this traditional village inn. Fairly priced for what you get. Beds are comfy. Overhead lighting is dim but bedside lamps are bright. The bathroom fans go into quiet mode overnight, which is a great feature. Electric wall heaters, so you can control the temperature in your room. Theres a kettle in the rooms with a selection of tea and instant coffee, and there’s also a tv. The pub is welcoming and has a good selection of drinks and food, for good prices (eg bottle of wine £16.50). There’s a heated covered patio area, and also a fenced beer garden (about 1m height so secure for small dogs)

"Not happy at all as I felt we were an inconvenience,I felt the lack of breakfast having already confirmed by email was r"

3.0

The pub was a very nice old pub and the rooms were converted stable which were quite nice. The biggest plus was a great selection of drinks including several lagers I like plus the food was pretty good and better than expected

The rooms being converted stables were next to the pub but very close to the smoking area out the back of the pub so we had children screaming outside our room until gone 11pm! We were also told to get breakfast we had to book that on check in which I had previously questioned by email to confirm then upon arrival were told no breakfast as there was nobody to cover the sick chef. This left us with nothing to eat as we were due out to our venue by 9:30 am.Also the lock on our room was broken but didn’t realise until late.Knowing this in advance I would have cancelled.

"Overnight stop off."

8.0

Worked well as a stop off for one night. Close to A1 but in a quiet village. Ground floor rooms across the car park from the pub were clean and functional. Some very good ground coffee on hospitality tray and plenty of hot water. Had an evening meal in the pub, which was freshly cooked and tasty. All staff encountered were friendly and helpful.
