The George & Dragon Country Inn

Nicely presented building that was clean and well equipped. Very good breakfast.

The room was right next to the beer garden and car park and as the weather was good people were outside late into the evening so it was very noisy. I had to listen to loud conversations literally right outside my door whilst trying to go to sleep (I didn't get a good night's sleep). Then in the morning I could hear music coming from the kitchen area. Also the room doors have no handle on the outside but they rely on an automatic closing mechanism which slams the door, so in addition to the other noise the adjacent room's coming and goings shook my own door too.

We've stayed here before & whilst it's stil good the attention to detail has gone. The window blind in our room was broken, the usb port didn't work, the room & bathroom need some tlc. The food was good but lacked seasoning in some areas.

Lovely pub/restaurant with a few rooms. Rooms lovely, everything spotless and all needs catered fir. Staff so friendly and helpful, food amazing and overall a fabulous stay. We will be back again.

If booking here, be aware that it does seem to be the social centre of the village and can get busy. If you don't want dinner here you will have to go a few miles on country roads to find somewhere else. That said, we got a table on Saturday night and our room was in a small annexe, so not too much noise from the bar and garden. The room was comfortably furnished and the Smart tv enabled us to stream some favourites.

We had the Sheep Room, described as deluxe king size. The room itself wasn't very large - a bit of an awkward squeeze for the person who had to get round to the far side of the bed. An extra foot would have made a lot of difference but we could see that the odd shape of the room didn't really allow for the bed to be placed any other way. We were able to choose from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Some delicious choices but nothing very light if you are watching the calories.
