The George and the dragon pub is a quirky 17th century pub. Located in a village setting. The pub is obviously the hub of the village and seemed busy. The pheasant Room a delux on suite room was beautifully furnished. Bed very comfortable, towels soft. Room was above the main bar but when in the room we didn’t hear much noise from the bar. Breakfast was included in the price and was exceptional- well cooked and presented on lovely warm plates. All the staff we encountered were polite and attentive. Car parking not a problem plenty of space.

We liked it all. Stairs were steep but in character with the building.

Free parking, great menu options, friendly staff & value for money. We liked it so much we stayed 2 nights.

A bigger bathroom perhaps

Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful old building. Staff were incredibly friendly and looked after all our needs. Food in the evening was excellent and location is fabulous in a little village very close to Uppingham. We will be back to stay here the next time we re in Rutland

I arrived having lost my voice but the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The food in the bar was fantastic. If you're looking for a traditional country pub to stay in this is perfect.

The mirror in the bathroom had obviously been put up by a tall person as I could only see from my eyes upwards when looking into it!
