"Overall enjoyable"

7.0

Great location for my needs, clean lovely room, staff extremely friendly and nice, a credit to the management.

I didn’t think the food was amazing, we had lamb shank and usually it falls off the bone, but it didn’t. It was also hard on the outside. Also just dried mixed herbs had been added to the couscous… anyone can do that, that’s not what I’d expect from a chef. The EVcharger was also not working which was an inconvenience.

"Excellent accommodation in lovely countryside"

9.0

Very good breakfast. Nothing exceptional with the dinner ordered, but happy with my meal. The room was excellent, everything you needed after a long day was available.

I couldn’t fault the accommodation, the only downside for me was finding the village and had to rely on my satnav.

The breakfast was good but on the 2nd morning it took 55 minutes for our cooked breakfasts to arrive. There were containers labelled cornflakes and crunchy nut. On the 2nd morning I poured the cereal labelled cornflakes into my bowl. These turned out to be crunchy nut cornflakes when I tasted them. Thankfully I do not have a peanut allergy. This error could make someone seriously unwell!

Breakfast service, as above. The 'small double' bedroom was ridiculously small so not good value for money. No wardrobe. On the Saturday night we returned at 11pm hoping to enjoy a quiet drink in the bar. Everything was locked up and no staff on site. We had not been warned about this when checking in.

"A very cosy, romantic get away perfect for couples"

9.0

The decor, very cosy and top quality. Food was insanely delicious Staff very welcoming Bed extremely comfy

One socket sparked when attempted usage so left it Room very small Not a great deal of parking Some very drunk rowdy customers but can't be helped. Kettle took forever to boil. No mini fridge in room, one in carrier back near entrance didn't feel confident leaving things that far away. Dangerous road on lead up to property nearly had a collision.

I made this booking to stay over close to Alton Towers. There was an issue with the booking that was quickly resolved by the team at the crown. On arrival we were greeted and shown to our rooms. The food on the evening and breakfast was very good, home cooked food, again with great friendly service. The rooms we quaint old rooms, with small doors and frame, that were lovely and very clean. Definitely recommend staying here as a stopping point for Alton towers it’s a 15 minute drive to the park.
