Hugh the owner is the nicest person I've ever met - truly. So kind and welcoming! Also, the outdoor deck is totally awesome. And the views!

My simple King room was larger than most. The bed/pillow was very comfortable. Very clean. The manager couple waqs on site and mad sure all was perfect. Check in was 30 seconds.... I love it. Grocery store and town all within walking distance. I will be back

It’s a really nice spot in Lake City, Colorado. Very clean, warm and easy to find! Well equipped to have some snacks in room with a full size fridge and microwave and dishes!

This was a super fun week in Lake City. We enjoyed the individually owned property and attention. The fresh blooming flowers were a nice touch on the balcony.

I highly recommend the North Face Lodge if you are going to Lake City! When I arrived, the owner was very welcoming and chatted with me for a few minutes about my trip. The facilities were very comfortable and clean - nice sitting area, table, fridge, kitchenette, comfy bed, etc. When I was packing up my car to leave, the owner came over to say goodbye. Such a great experience overall. No complaints!

The room was fine. Rustic and nothing fancy but clean and some nice upgrades. The shower was very nice. The kitchenette was fully stocked although we couldn't get the induction stovetop to work (might have been user error). Beds were fine. There are extension cords everywhere - seems like a bit of a fire hazard?! Note that there is no cooling (not needed) and the only heat was from a small ineffectual space heater. It was fine with the warm weather we had but would be a problem in the winter. Biggest issue was access and parking. The "driveway" is deeply rutted and very steep. We have a truck so wasn't bad to negotiate but could be a problem for some. The parking is VERY tight. We literally parked with the front of the truck about a foot from the front door. They also have a big bear problem which is probably not helped by the recycle stuff being kept in a trash can right by the office. The owner kindly warned us not to have ANY FOOD in the cab or back of the truck as someone's camper shell had been destroyed just a few nights before as the folks left food in the back. We did find bear paw prints on our truck one morning but no damage. You can walk to a small grocery, a bakery and one restaurant but it's a trudge along the highway to get to the main part of town. I probably would not stay here again.

It had a large, open deck area with several fire pits and deck chairs for all the guests. The owner was very friendly and gave advice for our stay.

There was not a private deck. Minimal area for dogs to use the bathroom.

The North Face Lodge has a great location on the edge of town; the room was spacious, clean, and well-decorated with good amenities (fridge, coffee pot, etc.). Also liked the outside deck.
