It’s right on the Dales Way. It’s a lovely pub to stay in with real heart. Great food. Comfortable bed and a warm hospitable atmosphere. The manager even took the rest of my party down to Burnsall when my brother realised he’d left his car keys there!

Excellent pub, great location in the Dales, food amazing.

This pub was excellent with a very cosy atmosphere and lots of period touches. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms very modern and looked newly refurbished. PLEASE do not be fooled by the good price for the rooms!! We had our adult son with us so we occupied two rooms. Unfortunately they were hiking and arrived too late so we could not have a dinner there but had an excellent breakfast. Staff very friendly (as all staff we encountered in Yorkshire have been) So thank you for a very nice stay

Very clean, comfy and quiet at night. Excellent beer and delicious food, friendly helpful staff and welcoming atmosphere. We had a very enjoyable stay and would book again.

If you need an early start and are hoping for a cooked breakfast, be aware that they only serve cooked breakfasts at 9am sharp. Continental options only before 9am. It’s a super Yorkshire breakfast though so worth a lie-in!
