Room 6 was in dire need of refurbishment and decorative attenuation. Bathroom was accessed by four steep steps with no handrail for support. Shower underpowered and very - b Very low toilet,

The location was perfect as we were attending a function at Ely FC. We returned back to our room around midnight and the area was very peaceful and quiet. Breakfast staff member was very friendly and attentive. Told us a little of the history of the premises. Good breakfast.

We stayed in Room 3 which if I am honest was a little small but OK for 1 night. I thought the layout of the complimentary tea/coffee was potentially dangerous due to restrained space. The net curtain was a little frayed down the right side which looked a tad tatty. We made tea in the room but the water had an unpleasant taste. Not too bad for coffee. The plug in the bathroom sink was not very moveable, wi-fi was a bit hit and miss

The beds were small and thin, uncomfortable mattress. TV on a wall, making it only possible to watch propped up sideways on the far bed. Shower wasted so much water getting hot. No chair. Window in bedroom would only open a few inches, the bathroom one I couldn’t open at all. I was met both mornings by a lady whose only conversation was ‘did I want a cooked breakfast’. No asking did I sleep well, where I’d come from, last morning, no thank you. Nothing. Teabags were awful (bought my own). Orange juice, we’ll doubt that saw an orange at all.

Beautiful location, loved the quirky castle aesthetic. Comfortable bed. One of the cleaning ladies I saw helped me with my luggage on check out.

First thing being on the top floor. As a person with a walking aid, climbing those stairs was quite painful. The bathroom could do with some grab handles for support to those who require support to stand or getting in and out of the shower. The room itself was boiling hot. Yes I was informed the room to be warm. But with the heat over the weekend that both windows should open. Window over looking the bed is stuck or glued shut. So only way to keep the room remotely cooler was keeping the fan completely on.

The staff cooking breakfast were lovely as were the breakfasts.

The lady on the phone (owner maybe) was incredibly rude. The room was 26 degrees with no aircon or windows able to be opened. We had the fans that pushed the hot air around.

No staff on site. Breakfast options are non-existent and what there was were very basic, i.e.. only full fat milk, white or brown bread, no fruit, no vegetarian options, coffee and tea ghastly. The mattress in our room sagged in the middle so could not get comfortable. We booked for two nights but left after one and went to a Travelodge. I can see why there are no refunds once you have paid.

Excellent room, excellent location and good breakfast.

Radiator thermostat valve not connected to radiator so couldn't control the temperature and it was boiling in the room with radiator very very hot on a warm day. Fortunately no heating on through the night but it was very noisy from the boiler I guess early morning when it kicked in. We also had no hot water at the sink or the shower. Evening or in the morning so cold showers. It was a shame but I am sure this was a one off so would stay here again but in a different room.
