"Great little find, will definitely be back if ever up that way."

9.0

Location was very convenient for what we needed. Cute little village pub, owners were super accommodating and friendly. They opened the kitchen specifically for us and cooked us a delicious chicken Kiev and steak dinner as we checked in late. Very accommodating for the dog, even giving us some free treats and a bowl of steak offcuts. Breakfast was basic continental but plentiful. Room was small but clean, until the dog bounced all over the bed. Owner very understanding and completely ok with the muddy paws.

Rooms needed a little tlc (carpets a little threadbare in a couple of places) but we were only there for 1 night, had a comfortable bed and everything we needed and it didn’t affect our stay.

Evening meal was good.

Room small, bathroom had silverfish on the window sill and toilet was stained.

"Okay"

6.0

The room was small but pleasant, warm and clean with a good view. We liked the Nespresso machine and had a decent sleep. The location is wonderful.

The hotel emailed after we booked to say they had no chef at the moment so no food was available. Breakfast wasn't mentioned when we checked in so we asked and the staff member said there was a continental breakfast but gave no indication of times. When we went down for breakfast in the morning it was bit tragic - lots of yellow croissants in packaging, cornflakes and museli in containers with plates over the top, a few yoghurts, apples and bananas. There were no staff around and three of the tables were dirty with discarded breakfasts. It was also very cold in the breakfast room. The coffee was nice though.

Lovely location, convenient for us to visit family over Christmas and our two dogs were able to stay too.
