"Good stay for the money, but I wouldn't pay more"

6.0

For visiting Suffolk The Crown Inn is a fairly good central location, it's on one longish high street with various shops and a pubs up and down it. It serves decent food of an evening.

Our room was very basic, no extra touches too it whatsoever. The bed was fine and it was fairly clean. My wife wasn't impressed whe she found someone's tor nail (not ours) behind the toilet seat. The shower was very weak too, amd there was damp and dirt on the window inside and outside. Also, we had to leave a day early and we while i understand they don't offer refunds, they could have maybe offered us a free one night in the future, or even a half priced night.

"Despite the above the village was lovely and the locals were very friendly and welcoming a real sense of community which"

Location, lovely breakfast and evening food

Sink in bathroom took ages to drain away, limescale in kettle was very bad and looked like it hadn’t been descaled in years. Big sash window looking out over high street in bathroom had no privacy glass so you had to close blind fully every time to have shower or go to toilet.

"Pleasant enough stay and staff were lovely. Food pricey."

8.0

Family room was spot on. Good price and had everything you needed including 2 single beds for the kids so they don't have to fight over a sofa bed.

Price of the food was expensive and the quality didn't necessarily reflect this. I'm not saying it was bad food but £18 for fish and chips and the same again for cheeseburger and chips was a bit steep. We spent just over £100 on a meal for a family of 4. That was 4 main meals, a pint of lager, a gin and tonic, glass of prosecco and 2 diet cokes (the wife had 2 drinks).

"Great location with traditional pub atmosphere"

8.0

Good location. Nice tradional pub. Comfortable bed.

A little bit noisy early evening due to position of room above bar area. Unusual not to have breakfast items available to select (cereal, yogurt, toast). All items available on the breakfast menu (Table service only).
