The staff Madin was very helpful and always one call away. They are pet friendly and we loved it because we have with us our 2 dogs. The place is clean and Sir Ramon was also very accommodating and interesting to chat with regarding the story of their place.

"Highly Recommend"

10.0

I chose this place blindly due to the good reviews and they didn't disappoint. Im very glad I chose to visit Batad because it is much quieter and closer to nature. The Inn is in an excellent location with an overview of the terraces but the best part was how easy Rita and Randy made the stay. I arrived at nighttime in the rain and was helped by Randy through the trails to reach the Inn (I don't recommend looking for it yourself at night). Right away we were warmly greeted by a smiling Rita and ordered a very nice dinner. The next day we booked a hike around the terraces, to the waterfall, and through the village at the bottom of the terraces. Randy is very knowledgeable in the local history and the uses of all of the local plants, giving us a very informative tour. I can't reccomed this place enough and will stay if I am ever back to do the multiday hike.

If you haven't done your research know that Batad is a bit out of the way and there isn't much in the area to do other than hike. The faculites are a bit simple but you feel more connected to village life.

"An unforgettable experience that should be checked off your bucket list while you still have the knees for it ;)"

10.0

Rita’s Mount View Inn, overlooking the ancient rice terraces of Batad (a UNESCO World Heritage Site,) features one of the most stunning views in the world. Framed by giant bamboo and banana palms, the panorama is breathtaking, and alone is worth the trek to this remote mountain village. The innkeeper, Germaine (Rita’s daughter) is delightful, always laughing and smiling and quick to help in so many ways, from cooking up delicious pancakes for breakfast and chicken Adobo for dinner to arranging for the best local guides and trike transportation. With the help of Romeo, her father, who seems sent from central casting to play the part of the mountain sage, they keep the inn immaculately cleaned and welcoming. This is a very special place. It is also one of no the closest accommodations to the Batad parking drop off area. You will be hiking some 25 minutes to get to Rita’s yet you will be very happy with this that you did not book further down the valley when you see the rough hewn staircases that are the hallmark of Batad. Just bring what you will need for a few days stay. Backpacks, not luggage. And steel yourself for one of the most adventurous hiking experience of your life. Hiking across, up, down and back up the rice terraces of Batad is not for the weak-kneed or unsteady. It begins as soon as you leave Rita’s where steep, rough hewn staircases ripple down muddy, rocky slopes with occasional handrails only along the most hazardous drops. Hiking poles are essential. There are a few welcomed stretches of narrow concrete paving through steep jungle before reaching the terraces. From here, narrow terrace walkways alternate rough staircases with occasional quick shear wall ascents aided by alternating toeholds of rock protrusions that seem designed for smaller feet than mine. Walking along the narrow terrace walls is a meditation in focused attention. One side is a pit of deep mud and other is an eight to ten foot drop to mud and large rocks.

The walk into Batad feels like a time portal to a much simpler time. The rooms are simple. The shared bathroom is simple. Do not expect luxury. But you can expect wonderful hospitality, clean rooms, and the perfect spot to enjoy a fabulous view and start your exploration of this very magical place.

"Fabulous place with great view and lovely food!"

9.0

Gorgeous location literally in the middle of nowhere. Great onsite restaurant open all the time. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming - real family atmosphere. Facilities are basic but everything is very clean. The beds are comfortable. They were also able to arrange tours. I would highly recommend this place on the view alone - I think it’s the best in the whole region.

Clearer instructions as to how to reach the property would have been helpful in advance! Also the tours are quite expensive - I paid 1300 pesos to be shown around the terraces for 2 hours by a teenage girl who didn’t speak!! All fine but I would advise clarifying who your guide will be and what’s included.
