Nags Head

Can’t recommend this hotel. We stayed and the bar staff forgot to turn the music off so we had loud music in our room all night. In the morning went down to make a complaint and the couple in front of us was already making a complaint and got a 20% discount and so I asked if that would also be applied to us as we also couldn’t sleep and the lady at the bar said no, it only applied to them as their room was also really dirty! Amazing! Goodbye!

Location and village great. Lived there for a long time and travel back for work. Pub pretty and country pub feel. Parking .

The room I was allocated . Room 5 . I booked very last minute , hours of arriving due to work commitments. On entry to the room it had an awful food fryer smell. Kitchen fan very loud and irritating . I found the tv remote in a drawer . TV didn’t work and on calling the pub ( number taken from website) thinking I could ask for replacement remote all calls are voicemail and message to be left. I had to go back to the bar and stated remote was not working . Told will look at replacing batteries and will return to me. 20 mins later I had to return to the bar to be told no batteries after contacting a manger. All I wanted at this point was to relax !!!!!Knowing a room was still available to book via booking .com I asked to view to potentially be transferred. This was room 6. Non food smell and non kitchen fan smells . Plus tv worked. Sadly later in the evening I’m guessing staff using emergency exit to step Outside to smoke , cigarette smell as my window was open and then very early hours so annoyingly vehicle reversing on loud speak from the bottle and then I guess rubbish collection. Road noise loud. Room furnished well , bed comfy BUT Such a shame that no customer service and effort made. Appreciate its a village pub and I wasn’t bothered with bar noise and customers leaving but lack of thinking it’s acceptable to sell rooms knowing from previous reviews ( just read) that smells and fan noise has been noted and no mention of this at check in is unacceptable. Would not recommend this at all . Feel what a waste of money and would never return

Nothing particularly other than having to carry our bags to our room. Also bath needs a safety handrail

Staff were friendly, room was clean

It was very cold in the room and no option to turn radiators on, the fan heater supplied did not work

Staff very pleasant, Breakfast acceptable, no coffee machine on Sunday morning. Instant coffee was offered and was better than the Nespresso machine!!!!!!! Bed and pillows good and the supply of ear plugs very welcome as the drone of fans throughout the night was relentless.

room was dirty and the bathroom unfinished. I assume they are being re decorated? Mirrored wardrobe and bedroom furniture needed a good clean. Carpet stained.

Olds worry but comfortable with good staffing!
