Not a lot really

Needs a refit old and cold until heater kicked in witch took ages and was very old

Expensive with miserable breakfast

It was quiet - but that was probably because there were no others staying and the pub wasn't busy, although it was a Saturday night.

The price was excessive for the standard - £60 would have been about right, but I was charged £100 and that didn't include breakfast, which was another £12. Checkout was 10 am. I left my room at 9.55, but found the door to reception locked, so had to exit via the fire escape. The outside door to reception was also locked, so I rang the bell but there was no reply. I then had to go back up the fire escape and put my key in the door of my room, not having any other way of returning it.

Convenient for early start in Thaxted next day. Good on site parking. Easy access to accommodation (just a few steps) and onsite pub. Comfortable bed. Excellent tray breakfast delivered to outside room at time we requested. Friendly helpful staff. Responsive to messages.

Needs safety handle/rail for bath/shower.

Fantastic welcome to a lovely traditional family run inn. Food was lonely too. Everywhere exceptionally clean.
