New Inn - Dorchester

Helpful staff, comfortable bed, nice big room, great breakfast.

This may sound picky, but for a country pub, the New Inn doesn’t feel very rural. It's a bit bland in terms of its decor and general vibe. I do realise that it is catering for a large village, and is trying to be an eatery and modern meeting place. It had a dartboard, which is great. It's simply that, living in a city, I was rather hoping for somewhere that felt a bit more rural. If you want somewhere comfortable and friendly to stay, it definitely ticks those boxes. We had trouble with our TV, but a member of staff came very quickly and sorted it out. 👍🏻

Very nice, well appointed room and bathroom; nice views of rolling countryside; good, though limited, breakfast; plenty of space for parking.

For breakfast you can only choose one item on the menu, plus tea or coffee. It would be nice if things like orange juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc. could be provided in addition to the selected item.
