The bedsheet was so filthy and just covered by a blanket for another guest to come. By filthy I mean disgustingly bad - with hair of multiple length and color, unspecified huge stains etc. I do t need much but when I saw this I just left

The owner is absolutely lovely, and extremely generous. I really appreciated her help with organising an early-morning taxi (especially when I had to delay it by three hours at midnight). Despite not knowing English, she made sure we were able to communicate using a translator.

The room was small, not air conditioned, and windowless.

It is close to the airport, which was good because my flight arrived at 1am. The owner is friendly and accommodating- she even ordered me a taxi in the morning to the airport.

The property is a space which seems to be the original laundry room of the house- in the morning there was a lot of noise coming from the house itself. So much noise in the middle of the night, too- walls paper thin. The sheets are so thin and old (they even came off in the night due to lack of elastic) so I was sleeping on a bare mattress. Flat pillows etc. The bathroom had cold water and there isn’t a basin- you brush your teeth in the laundry sink. Everything is old and needs updating. While it is a cheap stay, I didn’t feel comfortable and wished I’d paid more to stay elsewhere.

I recently stayed at Duerme Tranquilo in Alajuela and had a great experience. The location is incredibly convenient, just 1.9 miles from Juan Santamaría International Airport, making it perfect for late arrivals or early departures. Although I arrived just before midnight, Socorro provided clear directions and welcomed me warmly, ensuring a smooth check-in process. The room was simple but comfortable, equipped with a bed, pillow, blanket, towel, a small ledge for storage, and a chair. The property felt safe, and despite some dogs barking outside, I slept very well. The bathroom was functional and the shower had a strong stream of water. Breakfast at 8:00 a.m. was delicious and fulfilling, consisting of eggs, meat, tortillas, and coffee – just what I needed to start my day. The back patio was a delightful surprise with a cozy atmosphere and lots of beautiful plants, providing a serene spot to relax. Socorro was a wonderful host, offering helpful advice and making my stay enjoyable. She even accepted US dollars for payment, which was convenient. This place is ideal for solo travelers seeking a budget-friendly, comfortable stay near the airport. Highly recommend! The bathroom, while functional, has a non-heated shower, which might be a bit uncomfortable for those who prefer hot water. The toilet space is quite tight, especially for taller guests, requiring a bit of maneuvering to sit comfortably.

The owner was very kind to accept me at 2am because of flight delays. Breakfast was simple scrambled eggs and toast. The price was right that included breakfast.

The room was quite small. I could spread my arms out and touch both walls. I just needed an overnight stay to catch a flight the next day. Located in a sketchy neighborhood as informed by the taxi driver. I had no problems.

Good for a night crash before your flight, but everything is very basic. No hot water. Paper thin walls. It's a 40 minute walk to the aiport if you travel lightly. The host is really nice though and she made me breakfast before the time, which was much appreciated.
