White Horse Inn

Booked to stay here for a visit to Oulton Park circuit - which worked well. Nice old pub, warm reception. Great room (up steps, beware) - spacious and nicely appointed - and great bathroom too. We left early so did not have breakfast.

We booked here so that we could eat as well and staff shortages mean there was no evening food available, which was a shame. Equally, we understand the difficulties landlords have in getting staff.

We loved everything! The location was perfect - we were going to a concert in Delamere Forest. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The pub was lovely and the food there was delicious!

Great stay in a calm lovely place with cosy room (good bed, big shower and lovely small terrasse to sit outside and enjoy the view into the countryside), very friendly owner who helps with every question, fast reaction on mails. The White horse Inn is a very cosy local pub with good food and relaxing atmosphere! You can as well sit outside and enjoy the sun infront the pub and in the garden. The village is a lovely calm place to relax. As there is no regular busservice you need a bike or car or taxi to go to places around. By car it is about 25 Min to Chester. This is for sure a nice place to come again 😀

The room did not reflect the reviews which informed my decision to book The room did not have a pleasant odour & the carpet had stains The TV did not work I did not stay @ left and booked another hotel (at cost to myself) The property owner later apologised for the condition of the room - however, advance warning & an opportunity to cancel should have been in advance of my arrival Hopefully the next occupant of the room above the pub will have a better experience

Friendly establishment but ge property was very tired.

Lumpy duvet no curtain over door window. Toilet seat broken so had to be changed sink got blocked and had to be dealt with and overall quite dirty. Burnt my arm on towel rail by just catching it and shower hot water was scalding. Room was never serviced during stay.

Lovely location. Comfortable rooms and beds. Good bathroom with large shower . The cleaner kindly allowed us to change in the room even though the pub was closed until check in at 4 which could have made things difficult as we were attending a wedding.

Wi-Fi didn’t connect, TV didn’t work. Light floods into the bedroom early in the he morning because there is no curtain between the bedroom and entrance space. The only member of staff was cooking breakfast.. We could have paid an extra £10 pp for breakfast but there was only cooked breakfast available (with no sausages) and we were staying with a child who needed cereal/fruit etc.

The location was quiet in a small village setting. Friendly local pub and people. Food freshly prepared and tasty.

Limited choice for breakfast, but the cooked breakfast was very good. Tried repeatedly to phone, email and message the owner to check availability of a special diet but didn't get any response which made us a bit anxious. It turned out ok in the end but a reply would have been helpful.
