Our room directly over disco

Location was fantastic, free parking and rooms and bathrooms are a lovely size. Lucy the host was very welcoming and rang to see what time we would be arriving so she could meet us.

The bar wasn’t open, which was a shame as would have like to have used it. There was a bright green emergency light in our room which didn’t go off, so kept me awake all night. Also could do with double glazing as the church clock chimed every hour. The bed was comfy but unfortunately didn’t sleep due to light and chimes.

The location was brilliant.

The car parking was confusing and not entirely fit for purpose, especially not for a big car. We booked with Booking.com and breakfast was extra. If you book direct, the £30.00 breakfast is included so we felt completely ripped off. The room was basic. The bathroom had no shelving so all toiletries had to be kept on the floor. The bath tap was dangerous, no non slip mat in the bath for showering. There were no staff on duty. It was very noisy (the accommodation is above a noisy bar) and the church bells were chiming ALL NIGHT. We didn't get a wink of sleep.

Room was a good size, with space for luggage. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was functional and clean, shower was functional. Location was great for Skipton, being right down the street from the castle and a few good eateries, and also the canal.

Breakfast not included for booking through this site. This wasn't explained during booking, merely on arrival. Breakfast not on-site either, being at the bar across the road. Parking not on-site either, and nothing in the booking details or on the building itself to explain where it actually was. It's actually across the road, behind the bar that provides breakfast, on a steep hill, out of site of the property. It's also partially gravel. This was NOT a good match for my motorbike, although I managed to slot it in without issue.

We booked this stay as our friends were getting married nearby. The location is great right in the heart of a lovely little town, although we stayed on a Monday when nothing much was open. The room was clean and comfortable, tea & coffee station and toiletries which was lovely.

We specifically asked for early check in at time of booking as we needed to freshen up and get changed ahead of the wedding, which we were told would be okay (to use the main facilities if the rooms weren’t ready) upon arrival nobody was at the property at all to check us in or greet us which was strange. When we called the number the lady who answered said she was in the local supermarket and would be there in 30 minutes. If we wanted an early check in it would be £20 extra each… we were only offered the toilet cubicle in the main bar to get ready and we were ushered out pretty fast (after 5/10 minutes) service wasn’t really what we expected or satisfactory but the facilities were pleasant.

Friendly welcome, great location, cosy bar. We were able to leave the car for a few hours after check out to allow us to go in to town.

Only disappointing thing was the hot water ran out half way during a shower
