Railway Bistro - Kandos

Location is excellent and the exterior of the buildng is attractive.

The woman in charge was in hospital so were not given a room nor keys. There was apparently no backup plan to assist people who had booked. Very frightening to arrive to a dark hotel with no key. We found an open door and found a room with a key in the door so we stayed in a room. Never saw anyone.

The location.

My room was infested with flying beetles when I checked into my room. I had to sweep the floor the next day to get rid of the beetles. The kitchen was so grimy I did not want to prepare or eat my breakfast there. I had to ask the restaurant owner downstairs for toilet paper for women's toilet. There was no one at the hotel to help with any of my concerns.

Very little. Did not use kitchen as it was strong with urine smell, filthy cupboards and utensils. Ate breakfast in nearby town.

Kitchen was urinated in. Women's toilets had been urinated on floors, half roll of toilet paper in one toilet cubicle only, dirty and unclean toilet bowls, no handwash or soap, area full of dirt and cobwebs. My husband reported same conditions in men's bathroom area and that lights within did not operate at night and he used a torch to use such. Bed linens had hairs in sheets and on and under pillows. Had to phone "reception" to get her to drive to venue to receive us in on arrival. Bird droppings abound.
